Lee Townsend made his comics debut in the mid-’90s as an artist for Fleetway & Marvel UK (mainly as an inker) illustrating popular titles such as Transformers, and the Death’s Head spin-offs.
He then worked in the animation industry at Disney and Dreamworks, as an assistant animator, before finally returning to his first love of comics!
He continued his collaboration with Marvel UK, working on characters like Spider-Man, X-Men, Avengers, Iron-Man, G.I. Joe, and The Hulk. Lee has since worked on various projects for 2000 AD, including Judge Dredd, Sinister Dexter, Flesh, Judge PI Demarco, Breathing Space, Bison, and Synnamon.
He has also worked on several titles for DC Comics, such as Hellblazer, World of Warcraft, and The Family Dynamic.
Other titles include How to Train your Dragon (Titan), Ben 10 (Egmont), and Gary Frank’s creator-owned title Kin (Top Cow). Currently, Lee is working for Marvel as an inker, and just finished working on a story for Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1 and George R.R. Martin and Paul Cornell’s Wild Cards series.
